The pic isn't great but you get the general idea of the knife. This one went out to a customer today, with his permission I am going to make more of these!

Specs:
Steel: D2 Hand rubbed - first knife I've made in D2
Blade Length: 5.5"
Overall: Approx. 10.25"
Handle: Stabilized Juniper Burl
Pins: 416SS & Mosaic

I'm calling this one the Slipstream. It's made of 1/8" stock which makes it a light fast knife.

Thanks for looking,
Sean

Looks very sleek & comfotable. I like the filework would add to the grip. Nice to see you arer trying different things, good choice of steel.
Thanks for sharing

Beautiful! Although I haven't collected fixed blades in quite a while, I must say THAT is outstanding. Love the blade shape. Nice work, Sean!

I just received one of these Slipstreams from Sean in S30V and with an absolutely stunning desert ironwood handle. I bought Sean's first Glide in 440C some years ago and have found it to be a terrific slicer. I tried to get another. As it turned out, fortunately for me Sean didn't have one. As well, I would have had to wait till early 2007 for another. It seems others have discovered Sean's work and there is now quite a wait for his knives. Luckily Sean had one of these beautiful Slipstreams available and the blade was almost identical to the Glide, but more upmarket in S30V, ironwood instead of micarta grips, and the thumb grooves. I tried to post a picture without success but Sean might be able to post the one he sent me - you really should see the pattern in the wood on the handle - it really is unique.

Great to hear you are happy with the new knife (and the old one for that matter).

Here's a pic of the knife you bought.

Take Care,
