I bought a Small Sebenza 21 Insingo Micarta brand new from my AD a few weeks ago but didn't care for the blade so much (so off to the sales forum it just went). So today again I bought from my local AD a brand new Small Sebenza 21 Micarta drop point and love it. Smooth and solid lockup. I took the lanyard off and clipped right onto my shorts. I am going to try and carry it this way for the summer instead of in a CRK pouch in my front right pocket.

Only thing better would be double lugs! [emoji4] I love mine, but it's an insingo. Gotta try micarta in a clip point.

Congratulations. IMO the small micarta is one of the best Sebenza's out there. I just added a small Classic MM micarta to my lineup. I had one a long time ago and have never been able to replace it until now(things just didn't work out when I tried to bid or buy).

Congratulations! I am also looking forward into getting my own CRK Small Sebenza 21 Micarta Insingo with double lugs soon... :)

Received the same knife today also  (mines a 2012 though).

I'm curious as to why people like double thumb lugs on a small Seb, is it just for the looks? No mater how hard I try I can't open my double lug small Starbenza with my left hand so the second lug has proven to be unnecessary. I imagine it would be useful on a large though.

It is extremely hard to use the second thumb stud to open on the small. I used to love the double thumb studs for looks, but have moved away from it. Now I am neutral to maybe favoring single studs. This is partially due to the fact that on other makers knives I have had the second stud snag really bad to the point of opening the knife.

I guess they do get easier to open after the knife is well broken in. Not that long ago I got back my small Claassic MM blackwood that I had ordered with double thumb studs. I know for the life of me I couldn't open that left handed. Just tried it and it is easy. So just give it 7 years of use and you will be fine :)

Beautiful. I just got my first small 21 regular version. And I am hoping this coming summer to snag a micarta version of it. If you guys don't mind me asking, I have never held a sebenza with inlays, how are they designed? Is some of the titanium on the handles removed to make the inlays dig a bit into the titanium itself? Or is it essentially a regular sebenza in terms of titanium material on it with just the inlays on top?

Something to look forward to then :p

I noticed that my 2012 micarta has extra lock bar milling on the outside and is quite a bit easier to open so would probably be a good candidate for a duel thumb lug.

I favor the clip point over the Insingo also. Being left handed and sometimes opening with either hand, I prefer the double lugs. I does take a while for the knife to break in and it's tough on the off hand until it does. Great Sebenza, I know I love mine.

Yes some ti is milled out and the inlay is milled to fit very tightly and secured with some super adhesive tape that they have found to work very well. They are very secure. You will see some aftermarket onlays(place on top of a standard ti scale) around often attached with screws

Thank you so much Peter. That was my main concern that over time the inlays would come off with use, but I think my concerns might have been misguided given CRK quality. Thank you! Looks like my next purchase will be a micarta. =)

I can't say that an inlay has never come off, but it would be very rare if it has happened. The reason they can't re-blast the scales on inlays other than the micarta(which can be bead blasted with the inlay intact) is that they would have to break the inlay to get them out. You need not worry in the least.

I've been wondering about this thing of removing inlays... Most adhesive tape softens with heat. If I would use a heat gun from the back side could I release the inlay without burning the wood? My experience with removing decals and foam tape would tell me it's possible.

Nice purchase you got there.
I really need to add a small clip point to my CRK rotation. Heck. I just need a small seb in my life period!

Purely aesthetics in my case and I think I would love the symmetrical look.. :)
