Just a heads up, there are some smaller Kant Twist drill press clamps available online. I've gotten lots of interest in the large model that I got a while back that was in pics in some of my WIP threads. It's a great clamp but It's large and while it works fine on my old Atlas floor model press, it was too big to use on my smaller 10" Delta press. I used a vise grip style clamp for a while but it wasn't as tough as the Kant Twist model and had some problems with popping open. Found these last week on the web and two of them arrived today. Tough as can be but small enough for plenty of clearance on my smaller press. Very good shop purchase!

Here are a couple pics.......

I remember the WIP... I THOUGHT I had found a source for them but it becomes harder and harder to find someone who ships to canada without outrageous shipping costs or minimum orders. Still looks like a great clamp though

who needs a clamp, I have hands of steel :D

Before I was aware of the dangers of drilling on a press, I had drilled some holes and the press caught the material and spun it like crazy..

clamps are mandatory... thanks for the post Jonny..

btw, nice tapping tool.. all in one I suppose??

Jonny,

I love my Kant. Now I am going to have to get me one of these too! Thanks for the heads up mate.

Where do you get yours from? If they dont post do you know of a supplier that will? I got my last one second hand.

Matt,
Search Amazon for Reid Supply Drill Press Clamps, the smaller version is the 1500 lb. model.

Yes, "very good" interesting. The added drilling items, the tools in the background, and the curls and metal bits make the photos "live" instead of static.

I have some little 3/4" with the round handles & paid about $25 mail order somewhere else
I see that Enco sells the 3/4" round handle for $11.30
So I'm surprised to find them in Canada for less than $15 at this seller

Thanks count,

I found that website in my googleing and they have a $100 minimum order. Can't justify any more expenses at the moment... but I'll bookmark them for when I have a couple more things I need and order from them

Thanks Stacy:) I get bored shooting items on a white background and try to mix it up.

I had hands of steel too when I was using my grizzly drill press. Now that I have a new Powermatic drill press I definitely need some of these clamps. Thanks for the heads up Jonny:thumbup:

Do those have a "quick set" to make big adjustments?

or
do you have to turn the screws all the way through the whole range of movement ?

They don't really have a quick set, but if you lift the barrel stopper up and out of it's seat in the frame when the clamp is loose you can just spin that barrel on the bolt either up and down really quick with a flick of your index finger. That's what I do when I need to make big height adjustments on these. Works pretty well
