New Smock - Titanium Scales

I would like to replace the aluminum scales on my new Smock with titanium. The Meton Boss scales are made for the older pivot, but they offer a screw kit to make them work with the newer version. Does this work ok? Are there sources I should consider? Thanks for any info.

I’ve got a lot of his scales (zirconium, titanium, and aluminum) for different models…all well made. My Smock is the older pivot so no experience with the screw conversion. Pretty sure he offers assembly if you send the knife to him. Don’t know of anyone making scales for the new larger pivot yet. Good luck

Thinking about this a little more and looking at the newer smock CruWear, I realized his conversion will just be a smaller screw like mine pictured. No way Spyderco made a larger pivot..just added the decorate screw with bigger recess into scales. You should be good to go! IMG_0363.jpegIMG_0364.jpeg

That's what I'm talking about! Yes, MB's kit is 2 pivot (smaller) screws only, so I assume pivot barrel size is the same. I think you're right and it should be fine. Now I just need to pick some out. Thanks for your input.

Yes, they both look fantastic. So fantastic that I am now considering a Smock, which I had not before.

And it feels better in the hand with the added weight. I had considered one off and on for a couple of years and wish I had gotten it earlier. Black hardware from AWT is due to deliver today.

The quality of the AWT is very good and seemed to make the knife more solid. Sadly, I managed to lose the tiny detent spring and don't know where to get a replacement.

If it’s the secondary detent ,you can assemble without and the knife will work fine! A lot of users like the action better with it removed.

You're right, it's still good. I just wish I had left it out by design instead of necessity.
