Kimber Polymer, Strider inspired racing stripes of Boron Carbide, converted to accept Para Ordnance mags or Kimber mags. I like my new smoke wagon, and she shoots plumb center!

Oh yeah, Strider knife content, I love my MT! Mick and Duane, sent you a present the other day, let me know if you like it! :p

I have to admit 1911's are not really my thing. Current carry is H&K USP Compact 45. DA/SA Trigger option.
THIS IS A NICE PIECE, any comments?

1911s are the only way to go! I'll take a double stack Para-Ordnance, please. Never shot a Kimber, but I hear they're nice. Awesome work Rob!

USP is the "modern" 1911 :D

Kevin

That's a sinister looking Kimber!
As soon as i get a digital camera (this month) I'll post some pics. Aside from 1911's, I love the usp's-i carry a usp compact 45 a great deal that Robar industries slicked up for me.
I really dig those stripes....

cheers,
Derek

My EDC is a .45 USP compact with some aftermarket action work, but still pretty much stock. H&K USP in any caliber and in any variant is one of the finest Production weapons IMO. Nothing looks prettier than a USP compact with a BA-5 laser mounted on the front access. rail, and for quick and sure, the USP has it hands down over Sig, Glock and Smith. Great choice Mick......wolf

Glad to hear there are some out there who carry the USP H&K
Now if only I could get enough $$$$ for the Mark 23!
I got into H&K USP Compacts after having all the usual weapons.
1911's or H&K are it.

USP stands for U Suck Peanuts! ha ha Just kidding of course, that is the next on my list!

Kumdo, I think the Para is a fine weapon, but the dang things chew up the web of my hand. The Kimber has the frame made by BUL of Israel and these are the only high cap 1911 type frames that dont eat my hand up. I have small hands, the paras feel like a brick compared to the Kimber.

Have 1911's from Gold Cup to Officer's models. Could only shoot a Combat Commander in 38 Super well! I have two SIG P229's in 40 cal with Nite Sites, that I can shoot very well. Carry one in Florida and hide one in Wisconsin. Do have A Vicker's on order, but I think my next Emerson Custom will arrive before the Vicker's, on second thought, maybe not!-Dick

Funny you should mention that. My right thumb has two enduring memories, the first time I tried to close the breach on my M1 and the first time I decocked a Para 12. :)

A color scheme that this crowd might appreciate

Another view of the same gun (not mine btw ...:p )

I can picture Duane sneering in disdain at the slide serrations ... :D

Rob, the STI/SVI polymer hi-cap frames don't count :o

I prefer them to the cast para parts :p

Izra, MUCHO COOL! Aw what the heck, I am working with a guy to do a three or 4 color camo job on some knives. They would go very well with that nice Kimber there. It that a polymer finish?

Cast Para parts? I thought they were Tactical Tupperware! :D

I believe that's Armor-Tuff. Wilson uses it (Wilson CQB uses it on the frame)... some kind of paint.

Although I'm not too fond of these new-fangled paints in terms of durability, I'd love to be convinced otherwise. Many of them look super nice!

I know Mark Graham at arizona response systems has something called "metacol III" that is very similar and he has black, grey, OD, etc...
I saw a black slide grey fame cqb compact that looked very cool.
I picked up a stainless kimber, but prefer a black weapon. also hate front slide serrations, but oh well. they sure do "drag" in a finely fitted leather holster.
sweet pistols, though.
cheers,
Derek
