Well, Brown just left, but not before delivering and eagerly anticipated overnight package! I tore that thing open quicker than a 8 year old on Christmas and what do I find? A brand new Strider SnG that I finally broke down and decided to get. :D Talk about kick ass! Perfect, just as excpected. (Shoud be considering it wasn't that cheap) F&F were great. Not even a scratch on the knife, lockup is rock solid, and sharper than I expected. Didn't even have it in my greedy little mitts for longer than a couple minutes and it kissed my thumb pretty good. I didn't think the lockbar would be so stiff and my thumb slipped off and somehow ended up right on the blade edge. We all know that familiar feeling of an unexpected clean slice. I was a little apprehensive about spending so much on a knife that is gonna be a user, but it's justified now. Looks like the commander is gonna get a little downtime, and the SnG some pocket time. Thanks for reading, just thought I'd share some of my excitement. New knives are always a jumpstart to a good day. :)

Congratulations on the SNG!! The SNG is an AWESOME, AWESOME knife!!! I am so glad that you like it. Sorry about the knife biting you though, but it happens to the best of us!!The SNG is a fantastic knife; tought than I will ever need it to be. I am a huge Strider fan! And you are right, there isn't anything like a new knife to jump start one's day!!

I'm definately a fan. I was contemplating between the PT and the SnG as my first Strider, but I didn't want anything too big. I have a Manix and military as well as some other bigger sized knives, and as much as I love them, they don't see edc too much. At the same time, even though I love my delica and it sees a lot of use, I wanted something a little bit bigger. SnG fits the bill perfectly :D

I have a SMF and it's the edc that I go to for a knife that just works and won't break. The biggest blade pivot of any folder out there and the thickest liner lock and frame lock.

It's obvious why this is top dog for toughness. I consider it my fixed blade replacement.

Now all I need to do is find the spanner tool for the pivot nut. I think I read that the prybaby will work, but I'll look around.

Also, as a side note, I was happy to see how Strider scallops the blade tang for a better lock up. It's quite pronouced and instills a lot of confidence

Only certain Prybabies have the spanner...they almost always clearly say so in the discription. Good stuff as I understand it.

Yeah, the ergonomics on Striders rock...feels darn good in the hand.

SnG rocks! Its a great EDC for a lifetime! Surprised it came so sharp?? Those suckers come with a mean edge on em - they DO bite if given the chance - I KNOW. I have this sick notion that a little bite forms a deeper bond between you and your knife based on respect :o

Best of luck with the SnG!! :D You'll find it will be a "keeper". I love mine and ended up getting both blade versions (drop point and tanto). ;)

Just wondering, but is the tanto version a chisel grind or standard?

True, but a normal (i.e. non spanner) Prybaby's points will fit well enough into the spanner side of pivot screw to hold it still while you unscrew the other side of the pivot with a hex wrench. Worked like a charm for me.
