Hows it going bladeforum members,

My name is Paul, and I'm new to bladeforums. I took a hidden agenda class at Sayoc Sama Sama this 4th of July weekend. The class curriculum was primitive projectiles lead by Guro Kevin Estela. It was an awesome night of fun!

I mentioned to Guro Kevin that I was interested in learning desert survival skills. He recommended that I should check out Tony Nester and bladeforums, that there are a group of guys from bladeforums in SoCal that do hikes and skills weekends. I am going to sign up for Tony Nester's complete survivor course in August.

I have done a lot of camping and hiking on trails, but I have no survival skills. I would like to learn some survival skills so I could be more comfortable and confident in the outdoors. Live a little off the land and not so dependent on store products.

Basically, I was wondering if their are any members that I would possibly be able to meet up with to do some skills weekends?

Thanks,
Paul

Do a search for "Bush Bash" and you can see what some of us locals do twice a year. Next one will probably be near the end of October.

Hey Paul!

Great to see you on the forums and glad you took my advice. I told you the guys here would hook you up with an event or two. If you ever make it back to the East coast, we'll plan a trip. You're welcome on any!

Again, great to see you here "Dirty" Sanchez!

Kev

Welcome to the forums! There are a lot of skilled forum members here from your area, make it to one of their gatherings and you are sure to learn and make new friends. In the mean time pick up some books on survival and practice some skills you read about. Feel free to ask questions here as you will get some great answers.

Again welcome to the forums and please don't call the Kevin Guro over here, it's bad enough his name is in red...

;)

Best, regards,

Tony
