Greetings, It is time to reveal the identity of the first Fuzzy picture that Chris at SOG posted a few days ago, It is day 3 of shot and all is well, and a lot of people have seen SOGs latest new products at Shot, so to give you a little more, (sorry no pics yet) I will tell you what I know about one, I know Chris won't mind and when he gets back, I am sure he will post pics.

SOG is introducing the New SOG REVOLVER HUNTER. This new design has a skinner blade with a gut hook and quick rotation provides a wood/bone saw, the skinner blade is a multi-purpose hunting blade, with a precision gut hook. This is NOT your ordinary hunting knife. This knife is being made to benefit hunters, with specific emphasis put into the tools needed for hunters to be able to completely field dress quickly and much more easily, using the new gut hook and skinner blade, and then using the concealed wood/bone saw to finish the job. All these tools are held in one solid straight knife, that can be changed quickly, by pushing a button in the handle. This quick blade rotation, from a skinner blade/gut hook, to a wood/bone saw takes about a second. You have to see this knife perform to believe it! And in my opinion, it is the ultimate camp knife. It will perform task around the camp and in the woods like no other, being able to cut and prepare food, and then saw wood up to almost 5 inches in diameter. Making cutting stakes for tents and tarps much more precise and easier to hammer into the ground by having a flat surface to hammer on. The knife comes with a kydex sheath, and is so light, you hardly know you have it on! And being made by SOG, you know you have a quality tool. Chris will post some pics I'm sure when he gets back. You can call SOG to get more information on this knife and other new products.

Sorry Chris, I could not wait any longer ! ;)

Hi Robbie,
Had a good talk with Chris about you & the Revolvers at the Show. He had good things to say about both, and so did I. The new hunter blade should sell well, and I was almost as interested in the two sheaths he showed us as I was in the knives. That leather sheath is one of the best designs for one-handed use with positive retention that I've ever seen. I even liked the design of the kydex sheath, and you know how I generally feel about kydex.
You & SOG done good!
Denis

DPris, Thanks so much for the kind words, I am so glad you got to go to the show, I would have loved to went, but I could not make it, I have a leg problem that prohibits me from standing or sitting very long right now, hopefully I will improve and then I can contribute 110% to SOG and the knife. Right now I am at about 50%, but I try to do all I can do here on the forums and locally in my town.
Yes, they are some fine people that are making a fine assortment of Revolvers and sheaths. In is my belief that It takes people like you with experience and knowledge to give your opinions on this type of stuff, to the people that count, the SOG people.

Or to people like Chris, I am not really sure what Chris' real title is, because he seems to do so many things. Actually, everbody I talk to there seems to do such a good job.

Those sheaths are going to be a very big plus in this new line of knives, I think they did a super job on them. Thanks again for the input and please come over and talk knives any time, we would like to hear your thoughts. You definatly have the experience and background to add a lot to these forums.

Robbie Roberson;)

Well, not sure about experience or background (what do retired cops know? ;) ). And I always question my thoughts, I know how much trouble they usually get me into.
But, I do think you had a great idea. I've got a couple folders with secondary saw blades, but I don't really trust them since they don't lock that saw blade. Your design does positively lock either blade in position, it's very light, and it feels good in the hand. It may not be real popular among the Saw My Way Out Of An Airplane Club, or the Killed A Griz With My Bowie Association, but for a lightweight dual purpose hunting and general outdoors knife I kinda like it.
Sorry to hear about your leg, but there are people who do the Show on those little electric scooters, and every time one of them passed me I wished it was me riding it. You might consider that next year. I might consider that next year! Bubbles & I walk most of the Show and by the fourth day we're dragging. Actually, by the second day we're dragging, after that it's just grim determination.

Scooter ? , I didn't consider that ! Boy, we could sure scope some ground on one of them !:D , I am not that old, just feel old !:grumpy: , I have already began to worry if I can recoupe enough by next Rep. show near my home town. That is not good when you start wondering 7 or 8 months in advance if you will have to "wimp out" and call in sick for the ONLY show you know you might make for the whole year.
One of these days, maybe someone will come up with a cure for back trouble and nerve pain in the legs, until then, it's hope for the best of each day, after 3 back operations, I really don't see much hope. Oh wait ! , this is not MED. forums,:p .

I am so glad you like the knife, it makes me happy to know a police officer thinks its a good idea. I think police officers are generally a hard sell, because they have generally been conditioned and trained to question most things, even if they seem very logical. At least that is what I hear from my wife almost every day !:D You know the drill ! :) And don't worry about what you think, my wife also says, "it's what you say outloud that matters":D , That where I get in trouble the most, ALSO ! Thanks.
Robbie Roberson;)

Hey Robbie,

Thanks for the information on the new Revolver. Bet you are excited. I can't wait to see some better pics of it. Any idea when we will see more Pics and info?

Heber

Hey guys, Very excited. Just talked to Spencer and he is very happy to introduce these new knives, the one that has not really been mentioned is the New Double Action REVOLVER, the first of it's kind, being two cutting blades, one clip point partial serrated and on the other end, a tanto straight edge. All the new knives are in the new catalog, just now in.
The Double Action REVOLVER is one cool looking knife, and with the quick change blade rotation, how could you go wrong, the Tanto blade looks awsome when locked in place, supported by the same handle as the original REVOLVER. This knife should be great for military or police to carry in their emergency packs.
I can't come up with any pics now, but I will see if Chris can post some for us. Stay tuned, more to come.

Wow! That sounds really cool. You have to get us pics of these new knives. I've been hoping that SOG would release a Revolver with two Knife blades. Glad to know they did. Is the Tanto like the Tsunami or more like the Recondo? (I'm hoping Tsunami).

Wildmanh, Well they did ! To me, it looks like the Tsunami, It is really a BAAAAAD looking blade, I am serious, I have been waiting 5 years for this too !:D Just think what YOU could cut with this knife Heber, If you get really good at it, you could slice and dice a whole meal in seconds flat, and if one blade gets a little dull, you can flip the other one out and finish the job ! You should NEVER have to sharpen a blade in the field again, because you always have one hidden in the handles, razor sharp ready for use.
Stick around, Pics soon ! Robbie Roberson:D
