I recently purchased a cruiser axe sheath from them. It's solidly made, appropriately priced, and was shipped and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Wish I had an answer for you on their handles but my purchase went smoothly if that helps.

That does help. I didn't want to be the very first customer. It seems like all the handles I would be interested in are on back order...Maybe that's a good sign.

Or maybe they are waiting for sufficient number of pre-paid orders before contracting-out for the manufacture of them. In which case you might just as well go right to the source and contact House Handle (who actually makes handles) yourself.

I think Beaver Tooth is just the retail arm of Tennessee Hickory.

300six~ I have gotten quite a few handles from House, love their stuff !! I wasn't aware that Beaver sourced their work from House. They offer handle options that aren't available from House... That's why I was semi-excited

I have wondered about that. I have considered trying them but they seem to be always out of stock with anything I wanted. According to their web site.

I have no clue who Beaver sources from but I've always been suspicious of vendors that chronically claim to be 'out of stock'. It means they are middlemen suppliers and not manufacturers. If you do choose to contact House Handle made sure you get a live voice, tell them you are a forum member, that you want no lacquer/varnish on the handle and that you're willing to pay the upgrade premium for vertical grain and lengthwise absence of runout.

While true in this case that Beaver Tooth is a middleman supplier, it's entirely possible for a manufacturer to be out of stock of something due to a supply gap between production run schedules and demand levels. Just something to consider.

My understanding is BEAVER TOOTH HANDLE CO sells a lot of Tennessee Hickory Handles. I have also noticed that they offer two handle lengths of
23 1/2" & 24" that are almost impossible to find anywhere else. Yet, I haven't ordered from them yet.

I have ordered from Bowman Handles and House Handles. The Bowman Handles are almost perfect in every way. Of course you can order less quality handles from Bowman Handles. The House Handles are beautiful also. The 36" hand picked single bit, no varnish handles are especially beautiful from House Handle.

Hope this helps!
