My new Spot is really cool. It fits my hand very well and it is very thin. One problem, the sheath is way to tight. I loosend the screw on the sheath, but it made no difference. I removed the screw from the sheath and the knife was still very tight and a bear to remove. I have never had this kind of problem with a kydex neck sheath before. I should say that I am a strong person and I feel that the chain will break before the knife comes out of the sheath. I have a strong grip, but when I try to push the sheath off with my thumb, nothing happens. Well other than having a sore as hell thumb. Should I take the adjustment screw off the sheath and leave it off? Is there a trick to removing the knife from the sheath? I really feel that if I needed this knife as a last ditch effort, I would be DEAD before I got the knife out its sheath! I love Spyderco knives and I have had well over twenty of them. This is the ONLY one I have had problems with. I love this knife, but the sheath makes it USELESS! Thats what really bothers me. I showed the knife to my wife and she LOVED it. That was untill she tried to remove it from the sheath. Try as she might, she could not remove it from its sheath. BTW, she works out and is very strong for a 32 year old woman. I know that Spyderco had problems with the earlier sheaths being to loose, and now the latest sheaths are way to tight. BTW, the design of the sheath, with the chain tube at top, is great, but problems with the sheath's grip tension really make me want to sell this one on EBAY! And that is a shame. I can not believe that a great knife company like Spyderco can't design a sheath that works.
The sheath on my new Perrin Street Bowie is way to loose, and the one on my Spot is way to tight.
