New Sprint

Yeah just trying to decide what REX 45 spring. Native Chief is in the lead with it's pointy pointy and Lil' Native with it's nice lock.

Can’t pass on the g-10 native 45, I’ll have to make room for it.

I don’t think the spy27 is a sprint. I think it’s just a regular production model like the s110v pm2 was.

Yeah I started reading about that. Seems Crucible is making that steel for Spyderco exclusively and will be a production steel. Couldn't find much info out there about it.

This is about as much info as you’ll find right now. On the Spyderco forum there are comments saying it should be an improved version of vg10, or similar to a stainless Cruwear.

Generally I like to let new things air out a little before I buy one myself (I'd rather someone with more disposable income determine if something has bugs haha). But the fact that this is a Crucible steel with Spyderco picking the qualities, I feel pretty confident that I am going to be happy with the outcome.

If it’s being compared to s30v and s35vn, why is it being priced more than the m390 para 3 lightweight? I’m interested to find out more about this steel when the knives release.

Blue is very expensive. Just ask Bento Box.

Just personally speaking but on the internet I don't think it's possible to compare an unreleased steel. It's like comparing a cow with a Big Mac, with grocery store steak vs. one from Steak Club. Sure you can take a guess based on similar ingredients but you can't get the whole picture without it in hand.

Blue handled Para 3 LW is not a sprint, like others have mentioned.

I'll more than likely be getting both variants as I really like the LW model. I don't know if I'll ever buy another G10 Para 3.

Wait, there's an M390 Para 3 lightweight?

The DLT sprint is what I was referring to and it already happened. Not sure if they’ll do another run or not.

There is one listed on DLT site though I don't know if it already happened or is upcoming. $129.95.

I remember an M390 Para 3 sprint at DLT, and an M390 Para 3 sprint at BBS that was blue, but I don't remember a Para 3 LW sprint in M390, blue or not. :(

MAP went up this year. However I'm not sure that dealer exclusives are bound to MAP.

The Manix 2 sprint looks like the best value for money - almost $40 less than the much smaller Native.

It looks great except I already have a Manix 2. If I start going down that road it just turns into "get them all"!

I'm in the same boat - I have all the models except the Native Chief, which is why I'm encouraging others not to go for the Native Chief!

But seriously, the Manix 2 is a great pattern for a wide range of use, and a bargain compared to the other REX45 sprints (which are themselves bargains compared to the same models in other steels) - it's only $3.50 more than the FRN Manix 2, whereas the G10 Native is $52.50 more expensive then the FRN Native (I have no idea why).

If I didn't already have a CF/Cruwear Manix2 and s110v Manix 2 LWT, it would be my first choice.
