Just got my new endura knife and i notice some imperfections on the knife, on the handle and in the thumb hole. Is this normal, or has my knife been pre owned or something and damamged?

are you able to wipe away the discoloration in the hole?

looks like it may just be from the machining process, unless it is rust. but i cant tell.

as for the other, i don't think it is something i would have noticed.

what is the condition of the blade/edge?

Those are pretty miniscule imperfections, I would not worry about those my self.
The knife will look much, much worse once you start useing it any way :)

There is nothing wrong with your knife. Spyderco is one of the companies that offer to their customers the highest possible mass-production quality/price ratio (especially in case of endura and delica).

the mark on the hole appears to be the Stop/start point for the laser cutter I have it on several blades

There's nothing wrong with your endura. It looks like it's in good shape to me. If you want complete and total perfection expect to pay far, far higher than the price you paid.

You can get rid of the burr inside the spyderhole if it bothers you. If not, ignore it. The imperfection on the scales shouldn't hurt anything, including potential resale. Enjoy your knife. They are excellent users. Joe

The first one is just a mark from the laser. All of them have this.

The second one: I can't even tell what it is, but it doesn't look like it's going to affect the knife's performance at all... Unless you were planning to make an FRN Endura a safe queen, you have nothing to worry about.

My new Delica doesn't have the laser mark, was the hole made by a different method? Do Seki City knives show the same 'beauty marks' as those made in China and Golden? Both my old Police and the brand new Delica are both Seki knives, and as new were just perfect in fit and finish. The other day I noticed that the new knife has acquired its first scratch on the handle. Now I don't have to worry about THAT any more!

Call Spyderco. They'll take care of you.
Your Endura is fine BTW. Use and enjoy it.

My new endura and pacific salt both have the burr in the hole. I figured it was where they began/ended the cut. But like was said, it's easy enough to file/sand out.

Spyderco will take care of you, or...
I had an Endura like that and a little w/d sandpaper fixed it right up!
