my new spyderco scorpius has stripped pocket clip screws, i found this out when today i tried to relocate the clip. What should i do

Leave the clip in place. After all, it comes from the factory in the correct position if I recall correctly. Tip Down. That, mi amigo, is where the clip is supposed to be anyhow. Cheers! :)

Well, if you really MUST mess up true perfection by moving the clip to tip up, I suppose Spyderco will extract those screws under warranty if you can somehow prove you purchased the knife new in box in that condition. It would involve you having to pay shipping to Golden (and if they deny warranty it would involve shop charges plus return shipping). Could run into a pile of change right quick like. Tip down is the way this knife was designed anyhow. Go with it dude.

Yeah i got ya, i do like the way it came, I just wanted to try the other way. I am happy with it though, its my first spyderco.

When you say stripped, are the screws tight and the heads are stripped, or will they not tighten because the threads are stripped?

No need to send it back if you can get the screws out, Spyderco will probably send you new screws free of charge.

Go to a hardware store and see if you can find a screw extractor that'll fit. If that works, contact Spyderco for screws.

the heads are stripped

So you didn't put a torx driver in them (i think they are T6 but don't remember) to remove them, or could you just see they were just stripped? That sucks, but I bet if you contact their warranty department Spyderco will treat you right. In my experience they stand behind their products if there is a defect from the factory. Good luck with it, I'm sure they will help you.

Mike
