I just ran into this last night and thought I would get some opinions on them. My first impression was "damb..... those are expensive". I no nothing about the steel used yet (haven't googled it) but the design looks great to me. Especially the "Dayhiker" at 10 1/2 " OAL. Take a look and give us your thoughts.

I wonder if its made in Italy like the Hossum "Retribution" folder? Tyhe steel used suggests it.

I do wish they'd ditch that bird's head butt. It made the "small" Retribution folder uncomfortable for me, and the "big" was too bog.

Same steel, basically same knife as the Ontario Retribution Folders. It is a rebadge in my opinion, albeit of a fixed blade version. But the handles are the same, as is the steel, the look of the grinds, everything. They should be a winner as I love the Retribution Folders.

Yup, Fox is making these too. Can't wait to get my hands on these, hope to get one or three pretty soon :D

N690Co is similar to 440C only in that they are both stainless. N690Co has a much finer grain structure and is tougher. It's Bohler's high performance stainless knife steel and is well suited to knives like these.

The "Co" stands for Cobalt. It retards crack propagation - part of that toughness thing and particularly useful in a stainless.

Thanks for the input Jerry, and to everyone else.

Design looks very interesting to me. I normally carry simple utility knives (Moras, simple drop points) but have been looking into something like the "dayhiker" or the Manix for a folder for awhile.

After looking around, I can find any information on how thick the Dayhiker is! Anyone have any idea. Hoping it's not over 1/8".

Edited to add: I keep calling it a Woodswalker when I meant the Dayhiker!

0.160", ~ 5/32".

Thanks Jerry. It looks like a very well thought out design and knowing Spyderco, well put together knife. Much different than any of my current knives. Might end up giving it a try.

It's o.k. to buy yourself a Fathers day present over two months early right. ;) :D

There not even in stock yet, had to buy early..... not sure my Wife will fall for it but worth a shot.
