just got my paypal invoice for it...paid....should be here before the 4th of July!!!

anyone else pre-order this beauty?

I got mine last week and I was thoroughly impressed. I never picked up one of the originals so I wasn't sure what to expect.
I predict you will love it.:D

After about 5 years of near misses I finally found one. It was a gift from a friend. This knife will not leave my side for anything in the world, not for sale. I also have the newer sprint on the way. I really love Bob Lum's designs (RIP). Here are some pictures of the original version.

The pictures kind of say it all. The older models had black G10 and Ti handles, the new is gray G10.

So how is this one different from the new sprint run besides the blade steel?

Also the liners are milled out on the new one making it much lighter. There is a spyder logo where the lum logo was on the old one, and the lum logo is on the opposite side now. The new one is torx instead of phillips construction. The new one has pillar construction instead of a backspacer. I think thats it.

I've been some what "Lum lucky" in the last year or so, but the sprint has me excited all over again. Mines shipping today if I read my email right.

Here's a few of the older C46's

Tantos are just not for me, but I really like this one. I have the large Lum G10, I wish I would have seen this one first. Very nice knife.

I got mine in the mail today! They are SWEEEEET! One is perfect, one has a slightly off center blade. I know which one will be carried.

Korbaika, I wish this forum had a like button!

Are everyone else's liners on the sharp side? Mine aren't "cut yo self" sharp but the edges are pronounced.

They are supposed to be pronounced, that is how you get traction to unlock the knife. If it were smooth you'd see tons of posts complaining that the knife is hard to unlock. I remember some threads a while back folks were complaining about the Spyderhole being "sharp" on teh Gayle Bradley, then they decided to take some sandpaper and "fix the problem" themselves. As it turned out, their complaints switched from sharpness to wanting warranty repair.

Mine arrived earlier this week. Really wasn't planning on getting one since I have one of the originals in Ti, but I decided to go for it. Really liking the sprint run Lum Tanto so far. Probably the only tanto style knife I would purchase since I really do not like straight angular modern tanto blades.
