New Spyderco Natives?

When do the new Spyderco Natives come out. I think I saw a thread or two that they are under redesign. Anybody know? I lost mine and may put off buying a new one until the new ones come out. Anybody seen a new Native at Wal Mart? Aren't they suppose to be out pretty soon or already out by now?

I haven't heard about a redesign of the Native. There are currently 2 versions out there. The Native made in Golden, CO, and the Native III made in Japan. The Native has a s30v blade, while the Native III has VG-10 with a slightly different blade and handle design.

The big news is that the Native II, the SS handled version, has been discontinued.

The only way to know if there have been any changes will be to check in the new 2008 Spyderco catalog, which is due out in the next week or so. Tazkristi will be posting to the Spyderco forum here and the company's forum site as soon as the catalog is released.

I too saw a post about the Native being "upgraded" or something along those lines. IIRC it came from Sal himself and I think he mentioned something about possible liners and screw construction. That was awhile back and I haven't heard anything since. I would definitely like to see another variation come out.

It's something in the works in R&D, but it's no where near release at this point. Sorry.
