I received my new SR 1A knife today and what can I say - Bravo Italia! I love this knife! Fit and finish is beautiful, lockup is rock solid in all directions and the design aesthetics are, of course, Italian. The aluminum monobody is slick even with the machined grooves but in my view the ergonomics negate this. The handle shape gives you a good solid grip and and after all, the hand is supposed to grip the knife - not vice versa. Opening and closing is smooth but does require some effort, which is all to the good as far as I'm concerned. This knife is not going to open accidentally under any circumstances. The only nitpicks that I have are that the knife was rather dull out of the box and the blade is not perfectly centered - it cheats to the right a bit. It's not severe but it is noticeable. I'm already working on sharpening it up and it's coming along nicely. After about 15 min. on my diamond hones, it's slicing paper much better and starting to shave. I've already decided that a Lionspy will be my next knife and now I fear I'll have to start saving up for a bronze titanium SR1, dammit!
