Hey all,
Just finished putting this one all together for the upcoming Blade Show. Trying to make sure I have a few pieces on the table.

This piece has a high carbon steel tile mosaic damascus blade of "tumbling stars". The guard is canister welded "frontier" damascus. The handle is dyed/stabilized Maple Burl wood with a black spacer aand stainless pin. She's on her way to Paul Long now for some fine sheath work.

Wow...how is that Star pattern made when doing the damascus?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.

I had the stars cut out awhile back for another project out of contrasting high carbon steel squares, then pulled and alternated them and forged welded them into solid blocks. For this blade I cut 3/8" tiles then laid them out in a "canoe canister" with 1084 powder and forged welded that into a billet suitible for the blade, removed the can on the outside and forged the blade itself.
