I am using the Smiths Combonation Diamond Stone to fulfill my sharpening needs. I want to add to or replace it. What is a good sharpening system that goes up up to 1000 grit that is less that 50? I don't need to replace the 320 and 750 i have but if I can I will.
Thanks,
Paul

Wolfofthenight, I'd go with one of the Spyderco ceramic stones of fine grit. This stone I have and it's a good one. DM

David makes a good suggestion. You can also look into lapping the other side of the fine stone to make it and ultra fine and get a two-for

I think I would do what the other guys suggested and buy a Spyderco ceramic. That's what I was thinking as soon as I finished reading your post. You can get the 2x8 Fine stone for under $50. I have been thinking about getting one myself, all the reviews I have read on them were positive.
