I've used a Plano 3700 tacklebox for my EDC rotation but I wanted another one to organize the folding knives that I don't carry. I couldn't find the same model that I used but found this smaller one today at Walmart. It has just enough slots for my EDC rotation and is small enough to be easy to store. And it cost less than $5.

Now that's a great way to store knives, and can be stacked.

It looks just like that thin bubble/foam wrap to keep them from touching each other.

If you are going to store them long periods of time switch from that foam stuff to VCI vapor protection paper. Them foams and bubble wraps will not protect against moisture or corrosion.

Is it okay to put the VCI paper between the knife and the foam? Or, does the VCI paper provide any cushion by itself?

No cushion but a couple layers will be fine unless you shake the box regularly to hear them rattle against one another
