After reading the "resurrected thread" "I'm a Kung Fu Sharpening Master" I got all excited about strops. I already strop on a little 2" X 6" strop I bought somewhere on the Internet. Its great for portability but a little small, especially for larger knives.
After researching, I came across a nice 3" X 15" two sided leather strop mounted on Corian and fits in a Corian base, at www.handamerican.com It just arrived. I need to rub the 0.5 Micron Paste into the rough side (paste included). I got all of this for $ 35, which is less than a quality belt.
It gives me all of the length of a belt without the nuisance of finding somewhere to hang it, plus its perfectly flat.
I also called the owner, as I was unclear on just what to do with the paste, and he was most gracious and spent a long time chatting with me.
Great service; great company....and NO....I am not affiliated with the company in any way.
Who knows, I may just become the "Kung Fu Sharpening Master II"
