That puppy is for people that like LOUD Hawaiian shirts or those big, baggy pants and shirts that seem to be en vogue with bodybuilders. There it rules due to concealment.
The whole concept behind RiggerCoating things is to conceal it in my personal opinion, to make it appear to be something other than it really is. In this case, a really rude piece of A2.
The darker RiggerCoat and darker patterns of it lend themselves well to the shadowy areas under a vest or a jacket. Clothes might be wrinkled and if someone gets a quick peek under your vest or jacket, that might save the day having a dark irregular pattern that has the appearance of being "wrinkled."
It confuses the eyes.
Another thing, if you take this DefCon-5 off of the shoulder rig and simply stick it in your back pocket, how many people are going to think that is a knife? It will look like a neon colored hairbrush or comb, etc.
Many things to consider. Sometimes, the most effective way to hide something is right in front of someone.
Ever look for your car keys for 45 minutes just to find out you passed them over 3 or 4 times? Something happens in the brain sometimes and it gets confused even though you might be actively searching for something, and trying to key your brain into that search.

And the same goes for a knife...
