I was at my local shop yesterday and I saw a first production run Mini-Presidio by Benchmade. It really looks like the knife equivalent of a Humvee. This one very sturdy little knife that should be fine for heavy duty work. I was always a fan of the Presidio's flat gound blade, but I always felt it was a really heavy and bulky knife. This smaller version will be much more practical for EDC. I will definitely pick one up when they come out in plain edge.

On a whim, I picked up a Gerber Fastdraw. It is a decent little budget assisted opener. The blade is right at three inches and it has decent build quality. You could do a lot worse for the dollars.

I am not a big fan of most of BMs folders but I just saw the mini presidio and it does look very nice. Waiting for PE as well.

I got to handle one yesterday and it feels much better than the original. I thought about it, but I have too many bills to pay off (and I still have other knives/swords on my 'must buy' list ahead of it.)
