New style Military...ATS34 or CPM440V????

Let's say I have an opportunity to obtain two Military models and I want one with a plain edge and one with serrations. Which way should I go?
For the serrrated model I want a blade that will stand up to some fairly heavy use; branches, twigs, roots (and consequent contact with dirt and small stones), twine, plastic, rope, cardboard and other things I run into that need to be cut right now. The idea being that I won't have to sharpen the blade too often.
The desire for a plain edge Military is less practical. I just like to have a really sharp plain edge blade in my pocket, you understand, don't you?
I can afford to buy two Military knives right now (a great position to be in) and want to go ahead with the purchase.
Here's the question:
My dealer has several Military models, ALL NEW STYLE...some in ATS34 and some in CPM440V.
Which model do I buy in ATS34 and which in 440V?....Or both in 440V? Or both in ATS34?
I've been researching this for a week or so and gotten alot of help from you folks. My inclination is to try one in each type of steel. I refer again to my question. ATS34...spyderedge or plain?????????? 440V...spyderedge or plain???????????
I want to buy these knives yet this week. They sit, waiting for me to decide, just 90 miles away. Your advice is humbly requested.
Thanks

ps..
My original intention was to buy a military with spyderedge and a Starmate with a plain blade. It is clear to me now that I am over the edge and planning to buy more knives than I actually need. The Starmate is not in stock. I am impatient and, darn it, I love knives. I want new ones now. Is there something wrong with that??

There is an excellent thread about 440-V here:http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum32/HTML/000064.html

I think you would be happy with either since they are both good steels. Even though it is popular to bash ATS-34 now. 440-V is supposed to be a better performer. It should hold an edge longer. I believe Sal said that ATS-34 has slightly better rust resistance, but not much better. I understand that Spyderco is lowering the hardness of their 440-V a few points on future runs. If it were me I would probably get the 440-V in both. 440-V is supposed to be superior in most aspects. Although I doubt an average knife user would tell much difference.

I am thinking: stick with the 440V.
I have had other blades with ATS-34 and they do not measure up to my Military.
Just my $0.02

UH OH! just talked to the dealer on the phone again.
The 440V Military has only two screws on the pocket clip......What does that mean...old style?...with 440V ?? is that possible?
THe ATS34 has 3 screws so I guess it is a new style. It's serrated. I've heard good things about Spyderco's ATS34 so I think I'll just buy that one and order a STarmate in plainedge...hate to wait though.
