Has anyone else noticed that Spyderco has released a new clip-it design? I got a second tasman and was a little disappointed because of this. The new style is thinner and has a rounded teardrop tip like the delica's clip, instead of having a thicker width and a square ended tip.

I have been hunting for a plain edge native with the old style clip. Does anyone know if Spyderco offers replacements of the older style clip?

Best to call Spyderco and ask.

It's just a nicer, thinner clip. I really enjoy carrying the FRN Salts and Natives with the thinner clip. The ability to adjust them with a couple of coins was very functional and served me well when I have to change knife pockets, as well as the extra security of a slightly longer clip.

The barrel bolt is the same. still adjusts with coins. We only changed the shape of the clip to the thinner hourglass clip.

No change ever pleases everyone but some will see this as an improvement. Given that, I'd expect there are at least few folks who'd be willing to swap you an older style clip for the newer one.

May I ask why you'd want the older clip?

Just my preference. I find it easier to slip on and off of my pockets. I haven't broken the hourglass in yet but I just don't like how the clipped portion is a smaller area. The rounded end is harder to get my finger on when lifting the tip of the clip up to slide it in my pocket.
