i think a new sub forum titled something like "knives made in China" is much needed. i bet that at least 50% of ALL knives for sale in U.S.A. right now are made in China, yet there is no centralized place to discuss these knives.
some are really quite good and many others not. there are too many "brands" for any one knife enthusiast to check them all out, and often the same knife is sold under different brand names, with the only difference being tang stamp. so a centralized forum to share info and experience is needed.
further more, and perhaps more important, a great many patterns of well respected former U.S. and German knife companies are now reproduced in exacting detail, often including original tang stampings. these can be difficult to differentiate from the originals, especially for relative new comers. this proposed forum would be THE place to share this information as well.
so, waddaya think ? roland
