Just bought two Subcoms (Model 589) and they're great. The steel is AUS-8, not 420HC as the site mentioned. I got one for me, and one for my five-year-old, who is going to get a pink handle for hers (I'm making it from white lotus wood).
A great knife, especially for the $24 I paid for it. It came out of the box shaving sharp. I've been EDCing mine for these past few days since I got it and it hasn't needed maintenance or resharpening yet. My wife saw the "CLB" and thought it stood for "Creepy Little Bastard" (for the knife, not the maker) LOL.
I'll post a few pictures when I get home. Thanks Daywalker, and thanks Boker.

My Subcom if one of my favorite knives. The AUS-8 holds an edge very very well! I've cut down quite a few cardboard boxes, some industrial ones, and opened clam packs without needing to sharpen it (tho I still touch it up). It takes a wicked edge and doesn't take much to get it sharp (unlike my S30V blades...argh). All the later ones are AUS-8. They were only 420J2 (not HC) in early runs. Would LOVE to see a green handle version (Chad???:))
