I drew up this design a while back and then kinda forgot about it....

I have recently been in touch with a maker who would like to bring it to life so I'm checking the back of the sofa etc trying to raise the funds, LOL !
Anyway I re-drew it today and changed it very slightly, shortened the handle a little and made the front slope of the blade a little more shallow.

I then cut a rough one out in cardboard, check out the pics and let me know what ya think, it does feel pretty good in the hand !

Here's what I would do— at least put corrugated cardboard "scales" on your paper model. If you can, make the "knife" out of thin plywood. Then make clay "scales." Wrap your hand around the scales and then gently grip them into shape. Take handle measurements of the knives you find most comfortable. Give everything to the maker. I'd want to make sure the knife fit me perfectly.

The handle is actually the one off my TOPS Tracker minus the finger grooves.I did shorten it very slightly. The handle on my Tracker feels awesome but I think it would be a little more versatile without the finger grooves.

LOOKS A LOT LIKE THE TOP ONE HERE, PIT

MADE BY BROWNING

GOT IT FROM GUNKNIFENUT(GENE)

I like it. Only thing I would consider changing is moving the clip point start back more. Better for baton work. I would personally also add another inch to the blade length, I mean you aren't going to do really fine work with it, so might as well have some heft to it, just my opinion...

Oh jesus I remember that top one. If that came from Caine, then I was the one who stripped it and re-did the edge. TOPS was contracted out. I believe it is called the x-3

Except for his use of a guard, Tobin Smith has a "Hunter/Skinner in Ironwood" in the Maker's For Sale forum that looks sort of like your knife's slightly smaller brother.

Wow pit dog, that looks like a real Bruiser of knife. That card board trick really works pretty good. It really gives you a feeling of what the real knife will be like.
