There are getting to be more than one can keep track of. I think they are getting better though. Anyway, did anybody catch "Beyond Survival" with the guy from surviver man? Kind of a different pace of show than the rest. I thought it was pretty good. This is one of three I will watch. Dual survival, man woman wild, and beyond survival. I thought man vs wild was good when I thought it was the only one on tv. The colony doesn't spark my interest. And surviver isn't even a survival show, so I havn't seen that one.

Yeah I caught it the other night and found it interesting because he was in with the local natives and learning their survival skills. I don't know if I'd try their honey gathering method though !!! Looks like the show has some potential though.

I caught a bit of beyond survival and it does indeed look like a good show. Those natives were inpressive to say the least, tracking down the bees, then just reaching in and taking the comb, no smoke or anything. It reminded me of a dual survival ep. where Dave got swarmed and stung all over. Glad Les Stroud is back on screen and I like the show is set up.:thumbup:

How about that "sling shot"?

Novel idea IMO... a bow-shot!

I like the aboriginal basis of the show but hope it offers more than death dancing and fishing on sticks..... we have National Geographic for that.

I was in and out during the show, but it seemed a lot more like Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, which I really like, than Survivorman.
I'd like to see him spend the first half of the show learning survival techniques from the the people he's with and then the second half of the show putting them to use by himself. Sort of a "tell, show, do" type of show.

I liked the show, and the fact that Les got stoned. That just adds to the testament of how those ppl live and what they are used to

The show is ok imo and you can see some survival skills that the natives use but I really think it is just for the entertainment value. And that crazy Les is still using that dang buck 105. lol his most recent show (just a finished) he also had a basic swiss army knife, first time I ever seen him with one.

It's a lot closer the the shows Ray Mears did. I'm glad he's going out to learn these skills and cultures, it won't be long before nobody knows them.

I guess I watched to many of his shows where he failed a catching food. Some of the things he tried made me wonder about his skills. I think his specialty is going without food or eating plants.

I don't care for the new show at all, oher than the fact that he is trying to learn some skills. To me his new shows have a bunch to drug use and setting around getting stoned. That's a good skill for the kids to learn when they get lost in the woods!

I'd much rather watch someone that knows what they are doing.

Beyond Survival is more of an anthropology show than a survival show. It's still pretty good regardless of how it's categorized.

I caught a little of one episode of Beyond Survival, it's interesting, but not a survival show in the typical sense. I do like Les Stroud though. Survivorman was a good show.

My favorite is easily Dual Survival. I like the contrast in styles Cody and Dave have and it's a show you'll actually learn something from. Simple tactics that are easy to pick up and the show doesn't add in too much of the forced drama.

Man, Woman, Wild is okay. Can't say I love it or hate it either way.

Man vs. Wild is just kinda a joke to me. It's hard to take Bear Grylls serious with the way the show is presented. Given Bear's background, I'm sure he's a more than capable survivalist. But in the show he's more of a stuntman than anything. Also, he's sorta that kid in school you'd pay a dollar to eat something gross. Entertaining show...yeah...educational...not really.

I'll watch any of them in the end. I'm a survival tv junkie.
