Hey guys, this is something I have wanted to do for a little while now. I made this one, and I have now started a couple more. I wanted some feedback as far as what you thought about it.
This is a sealed tube, done in the style of my hollow handle knives. This is obviously not a new concept, and it won't be the cheapest thing on the market. But for those that want a quality handmade product, I wanted to make the option available.
The overall length is 4.5", and weight on my scale is right at 4 oz. The tube itself is made of aluminum, and so is the buttcap. The other end is permanently sealed, and is stainless steel. The cord ring is stainless, as well. There is approximately 20 feet of cord on the tube, and the finish is blasted. I will probably send them with a lanyard cord, likely black for now.
Price will be $85, and for $15 more, you can get a ferro rod that threads into the buttcap, the same as my hollow handle knives. I wanted to keep weight down, but made the sealed end with a stainless cap so that it may be used for light pounding or cracking nuts, driving tent stakes, etc. It can be used for fire starting supplies, a compass, water purification tablets, or whatever else you may have in mind. Let me know what you think.
Thank you,
Sam Wilson
