I know that Mora's are popular here and just wanted to know what you thought of the New Swedish Mil. Mora Knife http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=78455
im looking at getting one because i'm just curious if they are as good as every one says they are. The Swede's make some very good stuff and the Mora is something that looks like a very good knife for a VERY good price.

I think you should consider getting three. A carbon, a stainless and a laminated. they are good and excellent buy. I do not think you would regret :)

I had thought that the model have been out a while.

I bought two of those. They are terrific, and my basic kitchen knife. A good feel to them, and they can get a really sharp edge. You have to keep them sharpened (I use a Sharpmaker--it's easy), and take care of the carbon steel, but other than that, a great knife for the money.

Awesome knife for a great price. The knife may be a little mis-labeled as the knife is a Frost Mora Clipper. Not their army knife. It comes with the standard clipper sheath. These are the carbon steel version!!! I love mine. I recently bought a couple of the wooden handled Moras and they are good, but the clipper style is awesome.

I hate to say it and while I have spent a good deal on other more expensive knives, the clipper meets most of my needs. I do like leather and wood but these are good solid utilitarian knives. Paired with a good SAK like a OHT, I have the German Army version, you are well prepared for the woods. I have got to remember to get another couple to stash away.

Unless you just happen to be buying other items from Sportsmans Guide, you might consider buying your Mora knives from Ragnar's Ragweed Forge. His prices are lower and I have little doubt his shipping charge is much better.

I have pretty much stopped even looking at the Sportsman's Guide catalog because he charges so much for shipping. I'll only order from them if it's something I can't find elsewhere because the difference in price is usually made up by the difference in shipping.

That's not new, it's the olive drab version of the Mora Clipper, which you can get in blue and red at Ragweed Forge. Having said that, I own two of these from SG in carbon steel and they are great. My regular go-to knives for kitchen, yard and woods duty.
