Triton, when i ordered the baldric, I weas working under the impression that the scabbard had rings, one on each side, for hanging from a belt, but Patrick has altered it to use a cabbard slide, which is much more historically accurate for the period. I have every hope that the baldric that you sent will work if I cross the narrowed sections under the slide and then use laces to wrap around the scabbard, still under the slide, and tie them off. At least, that is my hope. If it doesn't work, I'll be back to you.
And what is incredible about the sword is that All he wants from me is $250 for the sword and $40 for shipping! I do note that his price has gone up to $260 just recently, however, but a total of $300 is still very reasonable for that sword. This is, of course, assuming that it is really as nice in person as it looks in the pictures. I will let you all know when I get it. If it is, TEMPL and Patrick Barta would seem to be one of the true bargains out there.
Also, Triton, I have no idea where Ken is with his plans to order the Swiss dagger, which is either 10022 or 10023, depending upon whether you want steel or bronze fittings. He was looking for that kind of dagger that was NOT tricked out with all of the NAZI crap, since that was the pattern of the SS daggers. If I go ahead with my order, I'll let you know before I do and give you a chance to join in with me. BTW, the style of the Swiss dagger in which Ken was interested is also called the "Holbein Dagger".
