Here's a fighter I just finished. It's a frame handle take down construction. I made a Damascus screw to hold the butt cap and handle in place. It has 410 stainless and sterling silver spacers and with a stainless tang. The blade is a three bar composite with twist on the edges and a very unique mosaic in the center. The guard, butt cap, and blade are all matching damascus and heat colored gold.

Please feel free to give me any feedback or criticisms that you may have.

Thank you to Buddy Thomason for the great pic.

Wow! Aside from the materials I love the shape. Thats fantastic. Excellent style of photography.

Edit- do you have a close up of the blade steel?

Looks like you'll have no shortage of well-wishers looking to fund Hank Smith's college fund. That's what I think of that knife.

That's an outstanding piece Josh. I was very impressed upon your dis-assembling of the take-down bowie for me at Reno.
What's the dimensions?

What a beauty! Great choice of materials too, handle and blade compliment each other.

The only thing wrong with that knife is that it isn't mine. Fan-flipping-tastic! That pic goes straight into the Best Bowie '08 file. A damascus screw - how cool is that?

Will that one be at Blade?

Glorious and fresh departures from the status quo. I'd take it, but am guessing even the filings on the floor exceed my $350 limit.

Wow! ...do you have a close up of the blade steel?

After photographing this blade for Josh, I told him - and I'm happy to state it publicly in this forum - this is one of the most beautiful knives I've ever seen. The entire package is well conceived and executed, but the damascus is exceptional - "to die for" as they say.

The new owner was hot to receive it and so I didn't have time to take it apart and photograph all the pieces. That it is a take-down model to boot... well, how to say this... If I was a knifemaker - any knifemaker - I would be pretty depressed about Josh Smith. ;)

WOW

Very very nice! Love the profile of this bad boy. Clip fits the blade perfect, handle fits the blade perfect. Each design element leads my eye to the next.

The damascus alone is a work of art, then you went and put it in the perfect form. I think if your not big time yet, something is very wrong in the knife world. :D

Keep in mind I am no expert.....and I do not pretend to be. I just know what I like, and this is an awesome piece! IMHO

Nice photo also!

Love the clip and I think the materials are really different and set this knife apart from the pack . very cool

Josh, All I have to say is WOW!!! That knife is a work of art. I love the pattern of the blade. Your talent definitely shows on that piece.

Josh,

Multiple congratulations are in order, for your work , and to your family.

I have to echo what's been said already:

that is really a spectacular knife/presentation pic!!!

The workmanship is obviously first class all the way, but "vision" is something only the real artists have, and to me this knife exhibits all the little, indescribable touches and flairs that distinguish something great from something outstanding

Great job Josh
great pic, Buddy
