Folks, just finished the first prototype Talonite knife. 5 1/2" overall, 416 SS dovetail bolsters with paua inlay, and burgundy micarta scales on a tapered tang. I'm pleased with it.

The fit on that knife looks awesome.
Looks like a lot of work.
Great job Don!

The prototype was sold before I had the blade ground!

Since my knives are really pretty much one-of-a-kind, I won't be going into "production" as such, but will take orders for Talonite knives now in addition to the more traditional materials I use. Lead time is about 3 months at this time.

Don, that is a really classy, and from the pic, meticulously executed little fixed blade. I'm really impressed. What did that knife go for, if you don't mind me asking?

Your web page is also first class... the Atlanta Virtual folks really did a professional job. Only thing I'd humbly suggest, at the risk of bandwidth/download times, is a higher resolution digital camera. (I realize you may have run out of allocation space on their server also, i.e. more $$)

I've never handled your work, but suspect the high rez would only serve to highlight a super fit/finish, not to mention great natural materials details, and damascus details.

Man, I need a better paying job. So many great makers out there...

That knife sold for $425, but the next one will be a little higher (maybe $450). In addition to the material being very costly, Talonite eats belts and carbide drills.

Thanks for your kind words, and the suggestions on a 3 megapixel camera- having just bought the 2 megapixel within the last year, I can't justify it yet-
