New Tenacious, weird detent at opening and closing

Hi, I just got my Tenacious yesterday. I've been sitting around with it, and I have noticed something that I find a little odd. When I open the knife, just before the liner lock pops out to lock the blade in place, there is a detent that stops the blade from opening all the way up. It just feels like the blade is hitting a speed bump right before the lock engages. If I go ahead and open it from closed, its not very noticeable, but the problem is closing the blade. When I push the lock to close, the blade hits that detent again and stops. I prefer my blades to be a little tight so they arent just flopping around during opening and closing, especially since my thumb is in the red zone when disengaging the liner lock. I don't want the blade to flop down and slice me up. This detent thing is raining on my parade because once I move the lock, and push the blade past it, I am hitting this detent thing.
Sorry to ramble, but I want to explain my issue clearly. Is that normal with this knife or do I have an issue here? Is it a safety thing that I'm not aware of? Thanks for any advice...

That kinda sucks. Haha. It's only a problem for closing, because I have to leave my thumb in the danger zone longer than I want to. Cutting it close, no pun intended. Oh well. It is what it is as they say. I guess in the end, it helps keep the blade from flopping over on your thumb when ya close it. I'm just used to my little Kershaws I guess. Haha. I've only had the thing a couple days, so I'm pretty sure it's something I can get used to. I just wanted to check in around here to see if it's intentional. Thanks for the advice.

Cool. Thanks for the help.
On a side note, this is why I like this forum. I mostly just lurk, but when I do ask about something I get friendly helpful advice. On many forums, all the noobs seem to be invisible. It's not like that around here, and I really appreciate it.

As others stated, it's normal in all liner / frame lock.

I usually press the lockbar and move the blade until the tang passed that point. From there, it's smooth sailing. Besides that will reduce the wear between the two, not having to overcome the bump.
