Here's two new ones just today. The smaller is marked American Blade, Chattanooga, Tenn.,
made in Japan AB-29. It came with the nice little leather sheath. Don't know the blade steel but the handles are supposed to horn. Very good fit and finish. The second knife is obviously home made with heavy aluminium handles, there's a name engraved "R. Murdock 1993" on the blade. Well it's been a barren cold winter here and pickings have been thin. Further inspection of the larger blade scales leads me to believe there stainless with three stainless rivets.

The first would be parker Cutlery.

You can polish off the "made in japan" and it will look like it came from Chattanooga. That's what someone did with a dagger I have.

They are pretty well built knives. I've read that its 440C steel. I think they were made by one of the higher quality Japanese makers. IIRC they date from the 80s. My dagger has a sheath that is good quality and was worth a fair amount on its own. Mine is horn too, it's well fitted and a good piece.
