New thumb ridges?

I just got a new small Sebenza born 4 weeks ago and noticed the thumb ridges on the spine are different.

Rather than the 20 or so small ridges we're so familiar with, now there are 7-8 aggressive, large ridges that look almost like teeth.

Anyone else notice this?

Anyone out there with a cam and some new and old 'benzas that could make a pictorial comparison to share?

I could be mistaken but it looks like the milled recess in the lockbar has been altered slightly as well.

Personally, I like the new thumb ridges and must say this Sebenza is the smoothest I've ever owned, so I'm a happy camper.

Interesting.

My Sebbie was born about 2 (July 16) weeks ago and mine has 18 ridges on it. Btw, it is a small regular.

Humm... Odd, you would expect that if they made such a change that someone would have noticed at a show, or that they would update the website.

I personally really like them the way we all know them, especially since they are so well and precisely made.

Did you get yours from Chris Reeve direct or via a dealer?

Any chance that it's done by the dealer or previous owner?

I went to the SHOT show in Feb. and spent some time at the CRK booth. They had a few Sebenzas there with thumb notches similar to what you described. They told me that they were "experimental" and depending on how they were recieved, they might replace the original style. It might be worth a call to CRK to find out.
