The TL-29 electrician knife has recently sparked my fancy and I'd like to get my hands on a new one (or three). One of the ones I've looked at is made by Klein but the scales don't get me very excited (not the one pictured). However, I've had a hard time finding current manufacturers of this pattern. Does anyone know of any modern iterations of this knife currently in production? American made would be preferable but imported is acceptable if the quality is there.

I think Utica Cutlery still makes them. They may even make them for Klein, but I'm not sure.

Thank you for the response. I'm glad to say that in the time since posting this I was able to track down a company called Colonial Knife which manufactures their own variation of this knife. Finding a retailer took a little digging but I was able to secure myself this beauty right here. I'm quite looking forward to using it.

Rough Rider makes one I think, though Chinese made RR is of a really good quality. I just bought a Case hawksbill electrician about an hour ago. New old stock. Pics coming soon to the newest traditional thread, and Case thread;) So don't overlook finding good oldies.

A couple of years ago, I bought a knife that purported to be NOS. I don’t recall if it was supposed to be Klein or not, but in any case, it came with a Camillus tang stamp. It works well enough, but has some of the worst-fitted springs and gappiest liners I have ever seen.

You can get very good examples of the pattern from Marbles and Rough Rider. My favorite is the Marbles with orange G10 scales.
