New to all this

Hi,as said all new to this.I fancy making a penknife and don't know where to scourse materials,I'm a 60 yr old male and a fitter Welder by trade,so I have a good mechanical background. I need a new hobby and really fancy knife making.I enjoy metal work and woodwork,so think this is the perfect hobby,just a total novice,Would like to get information from this group.Thanks Simon.

Welcome to Bladeforums! There is a sub forum under the "Knifemakers" category called "Shop Talk". There's a huge wealth of information there for people wanting to learn how to make knives and everything that goes along with it. I'd do some reading over there if I were you, the guys are pretty awesome there as well.
