Hi there folks, been a long time knife user but never had a Becker, will be ordering my first BK9 soon courtesy if the awesome pics/reviews in here.

Don't get much time to go outdoors with two jobs a wife and two cats to feed but just having the BK9 as an EDC safety blanket will feel great!

I'm really looking forward to it !

First of all, welcome to Bladeforums. Second of all, you're going to EDC a BK 9?!? That's a pretty big knife for a typical EDC role, unless your EDC role is not typical.

Thanks!

I carry everything I need in a Rush 24 pack and there is a really nice side pocket that is just right for it,

I'm not a serious prepper but I'm a life long scout who always likes to be prepared in some way or another.

My EDC is pretty typical I'd say, PSK, FAK etc, more of a get him bag that I EDC

Welcome welcome! There is a good group here! I just got a BK9 myself and am loving it. Can't wait to take it out to play. Feel free to ask questions and get involved cause that's what we are all about. Try to pick up the BK10 when it comes out. You'll love it!

Congrats on a wise purchase!
You'll love the BK9.
Welcome to BK&T!
Don't forget to post pics when you get it.

Congratulations on getting a BK9, also sorry you got a BK9. Now since you have the best you will be disapointed with all other knives.

You have the best, forget the rest.

If you ever decide you want to replace every folding knife you've ever owned just get a 14 or an 11. I've been edc-ing my 14 for about 6 months and rarely find a reason to pick up any of my folders any more.

Congratulations on getting a great knife. The 9 is my favorite big knife by far. I hope you get a chance to see what it can do.

I EDC the BK-11. IMO it's one of the most useful little knives ever.

Thank you all!

I was going to get a manix 2 XL or a para 2 as well but now I'm thinking of going all Becker all the time ... LOL

will have to take a look at the 11/14/ etc

(I have a feeling this is going to get expensive )

Manix 2xl is a BIG folder. If your looking at a folder, and your looking at Spyderco I would suggest a Persistence or a Sage, something like that. The Manix XL is even bigger than the Milly, which is a big folder ..lol

You can use paracord to lash the sheath of a BK11/BK14 to a larger Becker, and make groovy piggyback combinations, such as 9-11, 5-11, 7-11...

Here's a 5-11:

I like the 9/11 combo, ALOT

I have a $200 budget, it was originally $100 but I came up with some extra

(Edited)

Then there's the sheath .... I might end up not getting a new folder at all, I have this thing for fixed blades and I'm all about Beckers since I saw this forum and looked at many many reviews, I'm open to all recomendations

For $200, get a 9 and 14 (personally I like it over the 11 but to each his own) and a custom kydex combo rig from one of the guys here. (Godspeed,710,Azwelke are the first 3 that come to mind)
