I am clueless when it comes to knowing anything about Becker Knives. Other than being able to identify a knife as a " Becker" by sight, I couldn't tell you one model from another.
The other day I was in a local military surplus shop and came across an all black Becker that had a clip point blade. It's very possible that this is a common knife, but the only other Becker Knives I was familiar with had a drop point blade. Is a clip point blade very common? Is it very desirable?
It looked like this:image.jpg

Welcome. That's a BK-17 and as for it being desirable, it must be because you found a picture of it and asked about it. :-) A few of the BK's have clip points. Check out the Becker database in the stickies at the top.

edit: here ya go.

Welcome!

That there is a 17. I have heard nothing but good things about it. I hope to pick one up soon. I am trying to decide between a 17 and a 15 at the moment. Beckers seem to be addictive :D.

Welcome. Come on in the house and hang out a while. You'll be an expert in no time.

Welcome to the Becker forum. After buying one, expect to feel the drive to buy many more.

As far as every day carry goes, all of the "tweeners" are AWESOME. The 15, 16 & 17 each have a lot to offer but are completely distinctive in appearance and performance. I love my 16 but have recently started using my 15 more and have been impressed with its performance as well. I won't be buying any knives anytime soon but when I do the 17 is at the top of the list, ahead of the 10.

The 17 is basically a clipped saber 16 with laser etch instead of a roll stamp. I have been gaining an attachment to mine lately. So much so that it now sports my Nate liners and rides where my sterile saber 16 used to. I just don't want to mark up my pristine saber 16 ..and the 17 is a great substitute.

Hey fellas, new to the forum here and the fantastic Becker BK-14. I purchased my Becker the other week and already worked on a little customizing and got a new pancake style sheath.

I used my Dremel and silicone carbide sandpaper to remove the water jet tooling marks, got some Ka-Bar black scales, replaced the hardware with stainless steel and purchased a custom black carbon fiber HOLSTEX sheath from daytonabeachholsters on ebay.
