Alright, I've been around the forums for awhile followed the Becker forum even had some posts when zzyzzogeton, Wayne had his 10th anniversary giveaway, I was the winner of the giveaway, (thanks Wayne) so now I have a BK2 soon to be in my hands, I'm actually excited.
Now since Wayne had let me know I've won I've been going blind reading about the BK2, this is one impressive knife, basically it looks to be nearly indestructible. I'm not a knife abuser but I am a knife user, I'm a firm believer in using a knife for what's it's meant for and it looks like the BK2 is meant for just about anything you can throw at it.
Just wanted to stop in, introduce myself, I'm sure some of you have read some of my posts so some of you already know me.
For those of you that don't here's a short bio.
.
My name is Ted, I'm 53 years old, I've spent most of my working life as a mechanic/fabricator/millwright/machinist/tradesman.
Spent a lot of time upstate NY hunting/backpacking with my Old Man in the woods around Big Moose Stillwater area.
I've also been lucky enough to have done a fair amount of world travel as result of one of my jobs in the semi conductor industry back in the 90s so I've had the opportunity to see a lot of different interpretations of my hobbies as a knife enthusiast.
I'm no stranger to knives, I have a reasonable accumulation of everything from vintage traditional folders to custom fixed blades. I don't have any safe queens as 90% of my knives are users and get carried at one time or another.
My current hard use outdoor knives are my Ontario SP8 and my EK Model 5 Combat Bowie, all the rest are more job specific like my Nathan (the Machinist's) Carothers Osage Skinner or my Collins Machete but this'll be my first Becker so here I am making a formal introduction to you Becker Heads, (some of you I already know from other places here on BFC) in anticipation of spending more time here posting and sharing.
Looking forward to spending more time here and hopefully contributing in some form on the Becker forum, now to see what I need to become a Beckerhead, did I spell that right?
Hope everyone had a good holiday and wishing you all a better New Year...
