Pretty new, anyway. I bought my first Becker last year, the 15. What a fantastic and very underrated knife. Simple, elegant and practical, and an absolute bargain. A user for the working man. I could go on but you get the idea, and I realize that I'm just preaching to the choir.
It worked so well for skinning and butchering that I've decided to get the 5 for moose. I have a friend that uses a similarly sized knife for butchering moose in the field. It's simply amazing how quickly he reduces such a large animal into manageable sized pieces in order to haul it all out of the bush, and I'm confident that the 5 will work perfectly as well. In fact, I'm going to let him use it from start to finish to see what he thinks. If he likes it as much as I think he will then I'll buy one for him.
Anyway, there's no real point to all this other than to say thank you to Ka-bar and Mr. Becker for giving us such great knives at an affordable price.
