As the title states, I'm new to the glorious world of BK&T. But I found one helluva gateway drug into them with the BK11. This arrived at my house on Friday. The first thing I did was start playing with the paracord. I must have looked at hundreds of pics and posts before attempting this on my own. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

However, the other side shows my flaw.

I'll eventually come up with a way to hide my knots or make something a bit better looking (and feeling).

And then I put it to use over the weekend. I used it for some basic tasks around the house. It works great for peeling oranges, cutting ivy off of trees, trimming shrubberies and even tried a little whittling. I'm incredibly pleased with it so far and this is definitely going to be staying near me for a long time to come.

Nice! I love the 11. I've re wrapped mine several times and had scales and I keep going back to that same wrap you have. Cool stuff!

Welcome to our corner of the asylum! Necker is a fine gateway drug indeed.

Nice start.

If you heat the cord ends enough, and really squash it with something flat, you don't even need knots.
(worked for me anyway)

Welcome to the club, now have someone hide your wallet, so when you're jonesing you can't buy more ... :D

Welcome, I love my 11. I am getting ready to make a new sheath for it now. Should have some pic's soon.

Congratz on the 11!
If you heat up the end of the para cord and squish it with a pencil eraser while its still hot it will make it so that the you don't need knots. I think they are called mushrooms. I will try to find a picture of it.

Nice wrap! The nice thing about paracord is that it is cheap and an unlimited variety of colors. And, because of that, you will be wrapping and re-wrapping a good number of times. You should start a 12 step program right now before the addiction takes control of your life. When you spend too much time researching Beckers, too much time on this forum and trying to budget for your next knife are all red flags. Be afraid, be very afraid! So...........what are you going to buy next?
Cheers

Yeah I know. I have an obsession with OD green. I wear a lot of OD green and have several OD outfitted firearms. I think I'm gonna rewrap the BK11 in green.

I'm also trying to figure out how I can wrap the stock on this one.

As for what I'll get next, I think the 17 will be next. I really dig that clip point.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. Hope to learn a lot in here.

I started with an 11. Before I found this sub-forum. It truly is the gateway drug. Thanks for posting pics.

I fooled with wrapping the handle for a while, but eventually I determined I liked it unwrapped better. I don't even think I'm gonna put scales on it. Just a plain old BK-11. :D

Welcome aboard Capbyrd. I share both your paracord and your OD obsessions. My favorite color combo is OD with orange!

I know what you mean about the gateway knife. I don't even have a necker. I think I've gifted 5 or 6 of them, look what it did for the Capt.

perhaps a criss cross? though i'd probably use webbing, not cord. or at least, buy pre-gutted sheathing. lays down flatter.
