New to BFC... Just received my 1st Emerson...a new UBR Commander... Oh Yeah!

Long time lurker, and just received my first Emerson today: A spankin' new UBR Commander, serial#123. Picked up my mail and was excited to see that my knife came in. I opened the box, pulled out this monster folder and proceeded to jab my frickin' thumb with the tip. BTW, it's very sharp...yes, I'm an idiot. But I have to tell you, this is one helluva knife. The quality, tightness of construction, and blade are amazing. Ordering my large sterling silver skull clip tomorrow, and I'm making my own lanyard and adding a couple Emerson skulls.

About me: Retired USAF, married father of 4, and amateur knife collector... which means I have about 6 knives at this point. I'm actually a gun guy but I love a good blade.

Anyway, love the site.

He heh, nice! I don't know when I'll buy my first Emerson. Their designs are pretty awesome...
 
Yep... I've admired Ernie Emerson for years, just never made the leap. Now I have. And, I've already spoken to Geoff at Tuff Knives (Tuffthumbz) and I'm sending it to him to have some custom scales made. Can't wait.

Its not yours until you cut yourself. Where are you buying the accessorys? Welcome, the Commander is a cult classic. I love mine.

That is one sweet blade. Is that the spyderco police I see next to it? If it is, wow! I think the police is a big knife but the UBR Commander seems to dwarf if...
 
Congrats, I've had an UBR Commander for a while and they are pretty sweet. I actually cut my Emerson shirt with my UBR by accident lol.
 
i accidently cut my self closing mine today. at the time i thought i might lose my fingertip. just closed the knife in my index finger. it was so sharp it didnt even hurt until it started to bleed. if you have any doubts about the "dragons teeth serrations" dont
 
Im a gun guy too and thought I'd never get into knives. My brother bought me a spyderco for Christmas and now I have over 10 knives within two months of starting my collection. My second knife I ever bought was the Emerson CQC-7 Afghan tan g10 handles. I love it and im close to buying my second Emerson. Either the CQC-15 or horseman.
