First off I am trying to be mindful of all the rules and learning to navigate this site....I got a gold membership and it says in the instructions that after you pay change your user group by clicking on the group membership link in the control panel.....I don't know where to do this and I have been looking all over and still can't figure it out.....please help...thanks....oh ya if there are any other tips I can't get for being a new member I would appreciate it also...

Moved to Service & Support.

Read and familiarize yourself with the Exchange rules, and read the Sticky threads in whatever forum you find yourself posting in. Some sections have their own specific criteria for posting, that is in addition to the existing rules.

Be tolerant of others. Not all knife lovers love all knives. Some folks a very passionate about specific brands and makers. A simple "I don't care for Benchmade " can create a string of replies. One thing you will see a lot of is "Read More Post Less" which is kind of defeatist. If we all posted less what would we read? But what it actually means is Read the posts of more experienced members and get a feel for the thread. When you think you have a good handle on a subject, jump in. One big rule of thumb, stay on topic. Dont change the subject or make it personal.
All threads are monitored by moderators, super moderators, & administrators. If they nudge you in a particular direction just follow their lead.
Have fun and enjoy. If you love knives this is the place, brotherman. Welcome!

First thing Thanks everyone for your responses....I am new so I will be reading a lot so I can get ahold of the rules an feel for everyone and plan to be a life member.....thanks everyone!

Welcome we're really not that scary, it's more about common sense when posting, read the rules you'll be fine.

Thanks for supporting the site with a paid membership, for just pennies a day you can support the community and enjoy entrees hours of reading and a virtually endless database of info and access to the vast knowledge of makers, sellers and experts. :)

Hi everyone, I,m 2 yrs into collecting and just joined recently. Bought plat membership and am trying to get the feel of the forums. It advises me to Change group membership. I don't know what group I'm in now, and after reading this thread am still confused. Great new hobby though. I've bought about 150 knives in the $100 to $300 range from all the usual suspects and find myself perusing knife shops online like an addict. Could some kind soul straighten me out on this group membership thin? Thanks and I'll see you around
