I recently sold my CRK Green Beret 7". I'm looking for a knife but my knowledge is limited. I guess the first thing ill write is my list of wants

-6in blade(no more then 12" total length of knife)
-Blade Thickness > .2"
-High Performance Steel
-Clip Point
-Plain Edge (main reason for searching beyond the G.B)

With those to start I looked at the FALLKNIVEN A1 but the grip seems a little thin for my hand. I have gorilla hands. The CRK PACIFIC has a combo edge. The Spartan Blade Horkos looks like a fantasy blade.... but its mostly the handle.

For my needs a Pacific with a plain Edge would be ideal. but they don't exist. anyone know of a similarly priced knife or a reliable smith who would make one for the same price? Not a huge fan of the aesthetics of the ESEE knives. I'll stop rambling now

Welcome.

Have you looked at any Beckers? There is a Becker / Ka-Bar forum here.

There are plenty of people in the custom maker section who make knives like you describe. I've been looking at a Fox Combat Jungle myself lately. Bot on line with CRK maybe but it's a nice big blade with a good steel.

If you're going to do it right, commission a custom from Bill Harsey.

That way, you really can get a plain edge Green beret.

Have you seen the Swamp Rat Knife Works Rodent 6?
6 3/8 .250"thick Clip point plain edge blade of SR-101 steel,
upper and lower guard.
I have a Ratmandu and love it - the R6 looks just a bit bigger.
I don't know about gorilla hands, but I wear XL to XXL gloves,
and while the RMD handle could be larger, it WORKS.
