Hi, Everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself as a new member. I'm just beginning to develop a greater interest in knives and came upon this site. You guys are truly amazing with your wealth of knowledge and heavy-duty posting! I am overwhelmed by the amount of posting you guys do on a daily basis!

I can't believe how much I've learned reading through all the posts, especially where I can draw upon your experiences with knives I'm considering. I am also overwhelmed at the number of different styles of blades, actions, handles, etc., but you guys are giving me the info I need to make good decisions.

At this point, my focus is on the following two knives that will be my first acquisitions (I currently carry a SOG Twitch): The Benchmade 635 mini skirmish blue anodized and the Izula (or Kalista). I had thought about the Sebenza but, thanks to input from the forum, decided I needed to be more practical with my money as I'm just starting out.

Anyway, thanks for the help, encouragement, and info!

So-Lo has a great video on why you should wait to get a Sebenza.

Essentially, the argument is that one wouldn't appreciate just what a Sebenza is, until you have owned and used and carried high-quality mid-level knives for a while.

Oh, and welcome! It's quite an addiction.

Welcome to BF!

There is a lot of good knife information here and many good and helpful forum members. Take your time and explore the various threads and sub-forums, there's a lot to learn.

Welcome, to BF. As you read and learn new things in these forums, don't be afraid to... take your wallet and padlock it.

The truth is that the knowledge you'll gain here is not free. You'll pay for it in an ever growing collection of exquisite toys... err I mean, tools, you never knew existed, and with capabilities and characteristics you couldn't dream of. :D

So, welcome, enjoy, and I'm looking forward to your contributions.

Welcome, briarman!

The more you learn, the more you'll realize you don't know. It's never ending. . . .

BTW, the Mini Skirmish is sweeet! I have three, and they are some of my favorite Benchmades ever made. I think most others feel the same way, so they don't come up for sale very often. Other knives to consider are the BM 940/941/943 varieties -- another favorite BM product -- and Spydie Sage and Manix models.

Here are some popular sites to get you started:

I especially appreciate those links!

I'm also looking at the Emerson CQC-15 but I just a bit concerned about some of the posts/threads on Emerson. I'll still buy one if it comes up, though. The BM Griptillian is starting to look good, also!

See, I'm already catching the fever!!!

Welcome to the family! You'll love this place. BF is THE place to get info. on knives and everything associated with them. Enjoy...

Welcome aboard. Great place here with tons of info and loads of nice people.

Step away from the keyboard and run as fast as you can! Just kidding. I second what others have said. I've learned tons (and bought plenty) in my short time as a member. The people here are knowledgeable and nice. Welcome aboard!!

If I close my eyes and concentrate, I can see a Sebenza in your future...
