Hi guys I’ve been a long time lurker so decided to make a account new to buck knives also. After reading a lot about Buck I decided to buy a 110 today and I love it. It’s centered perfectly and super sharp the brass seems to have a little tarnish on it I’m sure it will come off. It came with a black leather belt pouch made in Mexico was surprised about that but it is what it is. The knife is really comfortable in hand and it’s solid when locked up. All in all I’m really happy with this purchase. I’ll post pictures in a bit I know it’s just a 110 and plain Jane but I like it. Cannot wait to see where this knife takes my buck collection :)

Congratulations on your purchase. You picked a great one to start your Buck collection. You don't really need to buy more, but you will. :D

Welcome to the forum. I’m not a doctor, I just play one on TV. My prognosis is you have just contracted Buck Fever. It can’t be cured. You can only treat the symptoms by acquiring more. Pics of 110s are always welcome, regardless of what they are. When I wanna shine up my brass, I use Wrights brass polish.

Welcome to our world of an incurable disease called collecting, buying, using anything made by Buck. Pictures are always welcomed...

The sheaths were made in Mexico but Buck has been working to bring them back to the USA...HOOORAAAAYYYYYY...So they are now available...

Welcome Key from a fellow newbie! I bought my first Buck (also a 110) a few weeks ago. And since then I've been trying to narrow down my next Buck purchase. Enjoy!

Thanks Vic great picture! Ok for all the buck vets here why is the nail nick at such a angle and not in line with the blade?

Welcome to our Forum. This is a nice place just to hang out.

The 110 was a good choice. My first Buck was a 110 back in the mid to late 1960's and I still have it. It has served me well over all of these years.

It’s a matter of leverage. Kinda like why a door knob is opposite the hinge on a door.

The nail nick is nearly in the center of the handle curve when closed, which is what matters for opening.

Welcome! You may not believe it, but as perfect as it is now, your 110 will improve with age. The brass cleans up in seconds with any commercial polish like Wright's, Nev-R-Dull, and so on. The leather supples up nicely if you wear the sheath at the four o'clock position on your hip in the driver's seat. Made in Mexico is not sub-par: Mexico has a venerable leather tradition and these sheaths are bomb proof and age well. Our brothers to the south do good work. I'm partial to the brown leather, however, and need to pick one up.

Word of caution on the sheath: Too much leather conditioner will relax it to the point the knife may not fit as snugly as it does now. Hold off on dressing it until you're sure it needs it.

After a year with the 110, give the 112 a try. It's a great knife, too.

Key, welcome. The nail nick is positioned to be in line with the clip grind and swedge not the straight portion of the blade. Other models are made like this. I think it's because
there is a little more leverage at that location. The size and location of it has changed thru the years. Gees, how often do you purchase One
product and receive a welcome from one of the company's top employees? DM

David, I only know two knife companies that have the upper level folks interacting with the customers on the forums. Buck is one, Spyderco is the other.

Well here it is I’m remodeling a bedroom. So I thought nice photo opportunity. It’s already being used like crazy. And you are right about the 4 o’clock very comfortable place to wear it. Also thanks for all the welcomes been reading around seems like a nice forum to park and learn.

These pics make it look like you're whittling a bedroom set from raw pine! Well, the 110 is just about tough enough to do it! :)

Welcome key and vic_in_jersey!

Don't use up too many brain cells obsessing on which Buck to buy next. They're all great knives, you'll absolutely LOVE your next one, whatever it is. Trust me.

Conversation Overheard at My House Last Week:

Wife, looking at a recently shipped 110 I had on the table:

"Don't you already have a knife like that?"

ME:

"Yup."

Wife:

"Do you have more like that one?"

ME:

"Yup."

Wife:

"You mean more than just the other one?"

ME:

"Yup."

Wife:

"So how many knives just like that one DO you have?"

ME:

"Huh?"
