Hi,

Don't want to be a bother, but I'd REALLY appreciate some feedback and pics from you Busse Owners.

I plan on purchasing a fixed blade in a few months, that will most certainly be a user and I would like to find one with a blade length of 3-4 inches.

My primary questions are:

1 - Which Busses would you recommend with that blade length - and could you provide pics?

2 - What should I plan for concerning price for the blade + sheath?

3 - Is there a recommended distributor that I should go through, or just through Mr. Busse's web site?

4 - I plan on using this in the field, so is Infi good for field sharpening, or should I look for an alternative steel?

5 - Does Busse make folders?, and if so I'd really appreciate Pics, and possible price, and an idea of availability/where to look for those.

Again, not trying to be a pest, but I've been lost in the folder world for a while, and I need a fixed, and heard Busse was the way to go - just don't know where to start, and want to make sure I get the right one when I take the plunge.

Thanks so much for the help,

sp

Welcome aboard. Regardless of what knife line you pick (Busse/Swamp Rat), you will not be disappointed. You can check the Busse Home page for what is being offered at the time for later delivery. For and immediate fix of Busse Infi you probably want to consider http://bussecompanystore.com. Everything listed there is available for immediate delivery, and Skunk and Vicki are lightning fast on delivery. If you look to the secondary market which we all do you wil probably notice that both Busse and Swamp Rats are the hottest knives out there. That is for a reason, great knives and hands down the best customer service in the industry.

Good Luck

Welcome! In the length you're looking for your best bet would be the scondary market here on BladeForums. A Badger Attack III would fit the bill quite well for your inteded use. Yes Busse's are very easy to field sharpen.
Depending on wether you want kydex or leather you're probably looking at about $300.00 +or-

Sorry no folder YET.:(

Barrabas, also may want to wait and see what is brought to Blade in June.

May be some sweet pieces in that size range, and you will be the first owner (well, after jerry...lol).

Just a suggestion.

Mike

If field sharpening is important to you, I might suggest sticking with either INFI or SR101 (Swamp Rat.) Some of the small blades from SRKW were made with D2 as well. While D2 is a great semi-stainless steel, I think most on the forum would agree that INFI and SR101 are easier to sharpen.

Thank you all so much for the info!!

More Questions - and I'll try to stop after this :D

Concerning the Swamp Rat Folder - is that a frame lock or is it Liner - what steel is it, and what are the handle materiels?

Thanks again so much!!!
